I can’t believe the iPhone is coming out 2morrow.
Shit changes in work and you have to be ready. In a competitive enviornment do not expect comfort but YOU must expect satisfaction and compensation if you deliver.

Eating Healthy
1. Awareness- I became aware how important it is to eat healthy when my father was diagnosed with diabetes. I always saw him eating late at night and munching on sweets but never thought anything of it. I figured he works hard during the day- he deserves to eat what he likes. Wrong- it finally caught up with him and now he can’t eat alot of things because it can kill him.
2. Knowledge and beliefs- I knew eating all those sweets couldn’t be bad for you but I have such a fast metabolism that I never gain weight. But then I realized that gaining weight wasn’t the only indication that I was eating unhealthy. I felt lazy and sick sometimes. It was beginning to dawn on me that just because I wasn’t gaining weight didn’t mean I was helathy.
3. Behavorial skills- I began to start cooking my own food. I began eating less sweets and alot more greens. This was not hard to do because when I eat good- I REALLY feel good. I’ll eat McDonalds or Wendys because I want something instant. but I’ll feel like shit 5 minutes after. But if I eat a grilled chicken panini with onions, lettuce and tomatoes I’ll feel full and great! By me cooking more I am not only eating more healthier but it saves me a ton of money! Just doing the dishes suck.
4. Self Efficacy- I am keep up this new lifestyle. It’s not that hard to do. I have all the utensils that I need. I work for a company called “saladmaster” and it promotes healthy cooking by cooking with stainless surgical steel. By cooking with Saladmaster you don’t let bad toxins get into your food because the cooking system is non-porous. So I cook in that, I cook for my girlfriend (I just wish she would do her own dishes! She’ll let them stack up in the sink until she has NO untensils and then she is forced to clean it- but even then- sometimes she’ll just sit there and starve. lmao- lazy). I like this new lifestyle- that’s why it’s easy for me to keep it up. And my girlfriend promotes it too- she’s become a crazy health junkie- excercising and eating healthy and watching portion control- so her doing this with me helps alot too.
5. Supports for sustaining change. I guess my support is from my girlfriend. I think if she wasn’t so into eating healthy and always buying good groceries- i don’t know if I would be able to keep it up. Also, when I watch my mom carefully prepare my dads food and my dad watching what he eats- it only makes me want to keep this up. I don’t want to become liek that. My mom worries all the time and it stresses me out. I wouldn’t want to do that to my wife or my health. Anyways, pops lost alot of weight and he looks good. I always wondered who I looked like because it was never really my mom. Once he lost the weight and his face got thinner- I saw that I look exactly like him.

What I learned -
81 % of college students consume alcohol.
Alcohol kills more people under 21 than alcohol, cocaine and marijuana and heroine combined.
One major media campaign focused on college student drinking that created a climate of support for eviornmental change was “Had Enough”.
Similar to life it’s good to see how others have succeeded or failed in past mass communication campaigns. Failures are caused from poor planning and bad formative research.
Print and internet are the most effective forms of mass media campaigns for changing behavior on drinking.
There is a whole lot to do to get started, continue the process and be successful in mass media campaigns.
Launch a strategic planning process, select a strategic objective, select the target audience, develop a staged approach, define the key promise, avoid fear appeals, select the right message source, select a mix of media channels, maximize media exposure, conduct process and outcome evaluations. {Breath}
Many campaigns don’t give that extra piece of information for people to go and make that change. The website might be missing, the hotline number will not be included or the steps to quitting will not be included. The ad might inspire someone to change but yet doesn’t supply additional information to continue the process or finish the process. Maybe their relying on the individual who might’ve been inspired by the ad to seek additional information on their own.
“Important messages were identified for parents that they should talk to their college-age children…but no advice was provided on how to have that discussion.”
The change process – Awareness – help make people aware of a problem that they or someone they know might face
Knowledge and Beliefs
Behavorial Skills
Self efficacy
and
Supports for sustaining change
What I discovered that I did not expect
was how these people can spend so much money on these ad campaigns and still make mistakes like not adding a phone number or not doing enough research.
I expected the amounted of work required to set up a campaign but not all that I read. Wow! My hat goes off to the teams of people that work for little or no pay just to make a change.
Scaring people doesn’t necessarily force them to change. ” Most experts have condlude that fear campaigns are extremely difficult to execute, rarely succeed and should be used only under limited circumstances.”

I wrote this for my journalism class which was an opinion piece.Last weeks class we talked about it’s not completely how much you know but what you do with how much you know is the real difference. Here is my paper
Headline: College Not For Everyone
Deck: Entry, Administration, Completion & Withdrawing
By: David Nudelman
Some people want money, others want easy money and everyone wants lots of money. Its seems that kids coming out of high know everything they want to grow up to be or still want to live like it’s still high school. College can be a great experience, give you a degree helping moving you up the ladder in society or can just be a complete waste of time.
College can help lead young adults to find positions they have wanted since their elementary days or to positions they never knew they would have. College offers majors where undergraduates study the subject they seek knowledge to become specialized, well educated and masters of their craft.
Funny thing about degrees are sometimes the wrong people have them. Imagine taking four years plus in college majoring in communications then comes the time where you have to make that powerpoint presentation of a new ad and you curl up in your seat. Could it because you never took a public speaking class as a requisite, you’re nervous or you’re not the right person for the job?
As we grow up we start things to see our friends get positions at jobs because their aunt’s cousin went out with the boss. It becomes more of what you know and who you know as opposed to just where you go and what you know.
Some of today’s most successful adults are college dropouts, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Michael Dell, Kayne West, etc. These adults left college because they have the right idea and knew where they wanted to go and how to get there.
College can mold your brain, teach you the required courses but it’s our every day experiences that help us into the young men and women of the future. College provides us both with information and hands on knowledge to take our careers and goals to the next level. If you’re not willing to use it what you learned after acquiring it relies solely on that individual.
I feel we I learn the most when I am inspired as opposed to being filled with knowledge. Once you are inspired not only does your brain develop but your heart and soul does as well. I think that if students can find inspiration from the things they learn instead of just compiling knowledge the success ratio would be higher and productivity amongst young adults would triple.
Growing up near tons of college kids and some dropouts, I have witnessed that inspiration drawn from money, ideas, other successful adults, businesses, arts and all types of media have been their reasoning for doing what they do. It was just partially what they learned.
College will help you learn how to work, teach you how to work hard and maybe even help you even get work, but it will not work for you unless you let it.

I’m not educated so I guess I’m a jerk
And I had no clue that the round was earth
School is cool but it’s all what you learn
With your skills determine how much you earn
How can you work not knowing what your time is worth?
But now you work on your PC with Windows
While Bill Gates just sits at home and works
You can base the things you do, over things you learn
But take a second and to make sure it’s worth
All the time and effort you spent in it cause
You can reverse your life but not your birthCollege is not for everyone report

This ad uses a great mix of sampling that flows great from photos of Einstein, Jim Henson, Ted Turner, Gandi ,Muhammad Ali, Martin Luther King, John Lennon and more famous faces that all have had a huge impact on the world around them.
While the pictures flip words like ” crazy ones, misfits, rebels and no respect for the status quo” are used.
This ad doesn’t say anything to tell you how to be different but shows famous faces that have changed sports, entertainment, religion and life who were extremely succesful because they were different. It ends with a quote “It’s the people who are crazy enough to change the world are the ones that do.” Then says “Think Different”.
This ad made a great statement, used sample videos of trusted faces with comments that really put helped Apple get their point across.
After viewing the ad a few times it reminded me being yourself can lead to the most of your success. Each of those individuals have and anyone else can, which Apple helps make the viewer believe, if they didn’t already.
